The romantic dramedy film, written and directed by Noah Bashore, explores themes of connection and self-discovery in a modern Midwestern setting and is being sold in the Cannes film market.
Indie distribution company Entertainment Squad has acquired North American rights to Walter, Grace & The Submarine, a romantic dramedy written and directed by Noah Bashore that stars Kyle Patrick, Jessie Carl, and Jonathan Connolly. Lauren Patchett is also part of the cast.
“Set in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the film follows Walter, a newcomer to the city, and Grace, who is preparing to leave town,” according to a synopsis of the movie. “After a chance romantic weekend connects them, they bond over traumatic childhoods, unrealized talents, and shared experiences. The film explores themes of connection and self-discovery in a modern Midwestern setting.”

Walter, Grace & The Submarine was produced by Gillian Noonan and Kyle Patrick. The film is scheduled for release on VOD platforms in the U.S. and Canada on June 10. Entertainment Squad is presenting the film to international buyers during the Marché du Film in Cannes.
Walter, Grace & The Submarine has won Carl a best acting award at the Grand Rapids Film Festival.
“This film is a heartfelt exploration of connection and the complexities of modern relationships,” said Bashore. “We aimed to capture the nuances of love and self-discovery in a relatable and authentic way.”
Noonan added: “Working with this talented cast and crew to bring this story to life has been an incredible journey. We’re excited to share it with audiences.”
